I seem to humanize everything- can’t help it. I talk to my sourdough starters before I feed them, I’ll occasionally wink at my old, trusted (and somewhat damaged) blender after it does such a fine job at taking down a batch of ripe bananas, I often spend a minute just saying “thank you” to my kitchen-especially my baking pantry- for being so perfect for me. While walking this morning, I couldn’t help stopping and looking up at the trees that line my driveway- I asked them if they knew how loved they are- if they know how much their beauty, health and strength is acknowledged and appreciated. This might be considered strange but I don’t care. I like being awake to my blessings
