There’s a whole lot more to living a delicious life than just putting food on the table. Just as there’s more to feeding your family than quickly eating something pre-prepared by strangers (or throwing something edible in the microwave!). Learning to live deliciously is about being committed to creating and maintaining a nurturing home life. For you, and for your family. By that, I mean, having a home where luscious aromas are deliberately concocted to help those in your home to feel comfortable and trusting enough to initiate meaningful conversations. And, when this dimension is incorporated more than just occasionally, the benefits become magnified tremendously.

I know from personal experience that the simple acts of cooking, baking, and sharing thoughtfully and lovingly-prepared meals has the power to instill in your family—and your home—a positive energy and a sense of emotional safety. I’ve seen how the positive effects from this kind of “goodness” ripples out into the broader aspects of my life, and into the lives of my family and friends. Although many of you who are reading this might not have experienced the many benefits that home cooking and shared meals can provide for a family, that doesn’t mean that you can’t. Sometimes, all that’s needed is for someone, somewhere to leads others down the path to “think differently.” And once a person thinks differently, their everyday choices will usually start to shift to reflect those new thoughts.

So, in this section, one parent and nurturer to another, I’d like to share some of my own thoughts and feelings, my personal insights and, as life is not always perfect, even some of my frustrations, with hopes that here you’ll find a different, perhaps more empowered, way to think about your own home life.  Folded in, as well, is some very heartfelt advice based on my own exploration, experience and practice of living a life that’s purposely filled with deliciousness. Remember that I’m here for you—if as you read you have anything to add, or a question or comment, I strongly encourage you to write to me at asklauren@laurengroveman.com.
