Just outside the Mahane Yehuda Market (Jerusalem) a shop that makes Khachapuri, a boat-shaped Georgian cheese filled bread. The most traditional way: after baking half way, the boat gets pulled out of the oven, topped with an egg and baked until the white is cooked and the yolk is runny. Just after baking the top gets swabbed with softened butter (a very rich butter) and served hot- the bread is used to dip in the egg and cheese). There are other ways to fill-and shape and we tried several- All delish. Can’t wait to make this at home
